Green light for getback to expand rehabilitation and preventative health services

By getback Director of Research, Professor Emeritus John Carlson

getback™ is pleased to announce the extension of our existing device-based rehabilitation and preventative health programs for the back and neck to include programs for the hip, shoulder and knee.

Our emphasis on high quality, evidence-based programs has been supported by the Therapeutic Goods Administration’s registration of the new hip, knee and shoulder devices as Medical Devices with Measuring Function.

The new hip, knee and shoulder devices are bio-mechanically designed to ensure safe and controlled exercise therapy.

The Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) is Australia’s regulatory authority for therapeutic goods, including medicines and medical devices. The TGA ensures these goods are safe, effective and of high quality before they become available in the Australian market.

The TGA registration verifies that all our devices meet all the necessary criteria for quality, reliability and functionality.

The devices enable optimal bio-mechanical loading and precise control of important parameters within our exercise therapy programs for major joints by:

  • Allowing safe and effective loading, minimising overload to susceptible ligaments and tendons;
  • Accurate delivery of performance characteristics such as range of motion, speed and volume;
  • Matching exercise prescription with specific morphological, histochemical and neurological changes associated with de-conditioning; and
  • Accurate recording of all parameters involved in exercise prescription to provide data for strategic analysis.
Spinal Health You Can See
Data from patients who have completed getback’s device-based spinal program show a clinically significant reduction in pain and disability.

The clinical treatment data from patients who complete our existing getback spinal program show a clinically significant reduction in pain and measures of daily disability. This efficacy results from the program’s ability to isolate and treat specific muscles involved in musculoskeletal disorders

The complete suite of getback devices are now TGA registered to provide effective therapeutic exercise programs which are safe, specific and measurable. The programs are equally applicable to injury treatment, rehabilitation from surgery, or ongoing fitness and preventative health.
