How we treat back pain

getback uses medically-registered rehabilitation devices to safely increase the strength and flexibility of the deep spinal muscles that stabilise and support the spine. The devices are designed by Biomechanists and Exercise Scientists to precisely target and rebuild the deep spinal muscles.

Spinal health you can see

getback™ devices are designed to safely control loading and guide every movement during your individual treatment plan. The devices provide continual feedback to ensure you’re exercising within the prescribed safe range, and measure your strength and mobility for review with our Physiotherapists and Exercise Physiologists.

Yes. Our qualified Therapists supervise each treatment to ensure all exercises are carried out safely and correctly and to monitor your progress.

An Exercise Physiologist is a tertiary trained health professional, with a minimum of four years of training specialising in movement therapies for those with (or at risk of developing) chronic conditions, ranging from musculoskeletal to cardiovascular and neurological conditions.

All Exercise Physiologists are required to be accredited by ESSA (Exercise and Sports Science Australia), adhere to the industry’s code of practice and are recognised by Medicare, Worksafe, TAC and most private health insurers.

getback™ devices are designed by biomechanical specialists and exercise scientists to a medical rehabilitation standard. The devices are registered with the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) of Australia as Medical Grade One Devices.

The devices are designed for isoinertial exercise, where resistance matches the muscle’s capacity thorough the total range of movement. These properties ensure that exercises are performed in the pain-free range, and find the right target in the lumbar spine. The multi-movement planes of the devices allow controlled movements in lumbar/thoracic flexion, extension, rotation and lateral flexion.

No, many of our patients use the devices either before or after work without changing clothes. You won’t break out in a sweat or need to shower afterwards.

No, getback is a planned rehabilitation program with defined targets to return your strength and range of motion to normative values for your age, height, weight and gender. A treatment plan usually lasts between 12 – 24 treatments.
