How we treat back pain

getback uses medically-registered rehabilitation devices to safely increase the strength and flexibility of the deep spinal muscles that stabilise and support the spine. The devices are designed by Biomechanists and Exercise Physiologists to precisely target and rebuild the deep spinal muscles.

Spinal health you can see

getback™ devices are designed to safely control loading and guide every movement during your tailored back treatment. The devices provide continual feedback to ensure you’re exercising within the prescribed safe range, and measure your strength and flexibility for review with our Physiotherapists and Exercise Physiologists.

About get back Middle Park (Victoria)

About Our Clinic

Middle Park Physiotherapy is the founding clinic for the getback spinal rehabilitation program in Australia. We provide comprehensive exercise physiology, physiotherapy, osteopathy, and acupuncture services for local residents.

Middle Park is around 4km south of Melbourne’s CBD, between Albert Park Lake and Port Phillip Bay.

It’s one of the city’s oldest and best-preserved areas and considered one of Melbourne’s most exclusive bayside suburbs.

But pain knows no borders; it is equally debilitating no matter where you live or how old you are. We’ve been helping solve debilitating problems with pain for residents of the local area since 1985.

We support many local community activities including pre- and post- natal programmes, corporate preventative programs, and local sporting clubs.

We’re close to stops on tram routes 12 and 96 and also easily accessible by car, with plenty of parking around the clinic.

Services Provided

We specialise in tailored back rehabilitation programs to get you back to optimal health.

One of the key focuses of the practice is the getback treatment program to restore spinal function and mobility.

Under the close supervision of our Physiotherapists and Exercise Physiologists, patients use medical-grade devices in a safe, exercise-based program aimed at increasing strength and mobility in the deep spinal muscles that support the spine.

In addition to the getback program, we provide treatments based around:

  • Physiotherapy – to help the body move and function at full potential
  • Osteopathy – a hands-on approach focusing on the link between bodily structures

getback™ devices are designed for isoinertial exercise (meaning resistance matches the muscle’s capacity thorough the total movement) to ensure that exercises are performed in the pain-free range, and find the right target in the lumbar spine. The multi-movement planes of the devices allow controlled movements in lumbar/thoracic flexion, extension, rotation and lateral flexion.
