Mr Rez Rahim

Founder of the Melbourne Spine & Orthopaedic Centre, Mr Rez Rahim is a highly skilled spine and orthopaedic surgeon with international fellowship training in complex spine surgery.

His extensive training includes fellowships in minimally invasive spine surgery, deformity correction, hip and knee replacements, and advanced microscopic and endoscopic spinal surgical skills.

Mr Rahim is a dedicated spine surgeon and orthopaedic practitioner with a focus on improving outcomes for geriatric patients. He has received prestigious fellowships, including one with world-renowned spinal tumour surgeon Professor Peter Varga in Budapest. His commitment to advanced surgical techniques is emphasised by training at the Neurosurgical Unit at Severance Hospital, Yonsei University in Seoul.

As an active researcher, Dr Rahim has multiple publications in peer-reviewed journals and is a frequent presenter at international meetings.

He is fluent in English, Russian, Sinhalese and basic Indonesian and excels in communication with patients.

Outside of his medical practice, Mr Rahim is dedicated to charitable work, particularly supporting the ‘Foundation of Goodness,’ which focuses on providing education and employment for underprivileged children in Sri Lanka. His commitment to altruism and kindness is reflected in his philosophy of patient care.

A former international rugby player, Mr Rahim is passionate about rugby and supports the Wallabies. He resides in Berwick, where he is raising his two young boys, and has been honored at Buckingham Palace for his charity work and fundraising efforts.
