Why we can remain open

Musculoskeletal disorders are the biggest cause of disability. Despite the billions spent, the problem is just getting worse. Latest medical guidelines strongly recommend exercise therapy as the first-line-treatment for musculoskeletal disorders instead of much more expensive surgeries.

With the constant updates we are receiving from the authorities and industries being asked to close down for the safety of the population, we wanted to explain why it is we are able to still be open and operate.

“Federal Minister for Health, The Hon Greg Hunt: The Australian Minister for Health has today confirmed that ALL allied health businesses can continue working and are encouraged to do so.”

Being in the medical industry, we are classed as healthcare providers with our getback program. getback™ is a medical rehabilitation facility and our rehabilitation devices are included in the Australian Register of Therapeutic Goods [ARTG], Certificate #244352 as Medical Devices Class 1.

Usually our devices enable our therapists to treat several patients at once safely, however, with the current climate we are following guidelines through spacing out appointments and limiting the amount of patients in at a time to enable the required social distancing.

Furthermore, we fall under the guidelines of ESSA (Exercise and Sports Science Australia) as well as APA (Association Physiotherapy Association) who are constantly communicating with the authorities to allow us to treat whilst adhering to best practice of our industry.
